Yes, it’s true.

I learned how to perceive pain differently.

I didn’t realize that constantly thinking about my back pain was actually making me hurt more.

I know this concept will be hard to grasp. I was there too. Just like you.

Your pain is real, but consider for a moment all the negative feelings (emotions) going through your head right now.
⠀
THAT is what causes a stress response in your brain and will change the biochemical pathways. Making you hurt more.
Your brain does not perceive stress differently. It is all the same chemical reaction inside your brain. It happens in a split second and becomes a very automatic reaction.

Pretty soon your body will have the same stress reaction to something simple, like a paper cut.
