What is MELT® Method?

My goal is to give you the knowledge
to achieve a pain-free life, using natural solutions, from the comfort of your own home. I'm betting you aren't aware that it can be done. With the right tools, knowledge, and know how, it is completely achievable.
What is MELT® Method
The MELT Method is a science-backed self-care technique that anyone can use to stay active, enhance performance, and get out (and stay out) of pain. Developed by manual therapist and exercise physiologist Sue Hitzmann, it uses specially designed hand and foot treatment balls and custom made soft rollers (along with your own body and breath) to calm the mind, tap into the autonomic regulators of the nervous system to boost control, and restore the supportive qualities of the connective tissue system to bring stability and balance back to the body.
Personally, I was first introduced to MELT about 15 years ago. I was still teaching ballet. I taught the older, more advanced students who wore pointe shoes. It takes years of training before a dancer can wear pointe shoes, their bones have to be formed, have proper strength, and alignment. Alignment is very important as misalignments will lead to injury. We would do the MELT foot release treatment prior to beginning class and putting on the pointe shoes. Some students had issues with misalignments and MELT Method corrected it. The first time I saw this with my own eyes, I was blown away. Using these small little blue balls and about 10 minutes time, the fascia was released freeing up the tissues, bones, tendons, and ligaments to all come back into proper alignment and move correctly.
I have incorporated MELT into my own chronic pain journey, and I truly believe that this was the missing link. Healing the fascia has to be the first step in achieving a pain-free life. MELT Method is the tool that I use religiously from the comfort of my own home. A small investment in the right tools and learning the technique was all it took.
Healing the fascia happens through rehydration—improving fluid flow throughout the connective tissue system called fascia. With gentle techniques, we help restore fascia’s supportive, supple qualities and release unwanted compression and tension that leads to imbalance and misalignment. The effect helps improve autonomic regulation and efficiency (making you feel in control of your life) which can lead to a cascade of vibrant, healthful effects throughout your entire body—from moving with ease to bright, supple skin to better sleep and more energy.
MELT is not exercise or a workout replacement, it’s not stretching, and (even though we’re technically assisted by soft foam rollers) it’s not your typical foam rolling. We think of it as Hands-Off Bodywork—it’s a technique that empowers you with the ability to treat yourself like a skilled, hands-on therapist.
I've mentioned collagen in prior posts. The fascia is 70% collagen and part of healing the fascia is giving it what it needs. Most collagen supplements are not formulated in a way to benefit you. Collagen supplements on the market contain collagen type 1 which is predominantly found in the skin, hair, and nails. The interesting thing is that there are 28 types of collagens found in the body and all serve a different purpose. There is no drug that you can take to heal the fascia, but taking a good collagen supplement will.
I'm happy to share with you the one that I take and am having great success with! So far, in the last 60 days of taking it, I have been able to wean off 2 of the anti-inflammatory supplements that I was taking. I am also experiencing no pain at all in my back. So, what type of collagen helps with bones, cartilage, and intervertebral discs? Collagen type 2. My collagen supplement has this along with collagen type 4 (basement membrane), type 5 (stabilizes type 1 and 2), type 6 (muscles and cell health), type 9 (stabilizes type 2), and type 25 (brain health and aging). It also is packed with antioxidants because we know, through years of research, that exposure to free radicals and oxidative stress decreases your body's ability to produce its own collagen. My collagen also has resveratrol, NMN, and NADH which are all know to turn on the production of NAD+ (an enzyme needed to convert food into energy). As we age, our ability to produce NAD+ decreases and our cells are not able to function correctly because we simply do not have the energy to. This is one of the ways our collagen production decreases as we age. Would you like to know more about this AMAZING new collagen product?
So, imagine now, if you partner MELT Method and this new collagen supplement together. This combination is an absolute powerhouse of pain-relieving potential.
Let's MASTER your chronic pain together!
