Shin splints are a fascia issue.

Your muscles are connected to the bone through your fascia (connective tissue).

Your fascia is full of nerve cells.

When you begin or increase your exercise routine, increasing the strain on the muscles in your lower leg, this can increase inflammation in your fascia, causing shin splints.  If left untreated, this can lead to microfractures in the shin bone, causing severe pain.

Try out these 5 stretches to help your body heal and recover faster.

Hold each stretch for at least 30-60 seconds.  Repeat 2-3 times a day,
