Chronic pain hack: Part 26

As a retired ballerina, I can attest to this.

Bunion, bone spurs, plantar fasciitis, pinched nerves…I’ve had it all.

This all resulted in 3 foot surgeries with permanent nerve damage.

I really wish I could take the knowledge that I have now and go back in time to start over.

1. I highly recommend seeing a podiatrist and get a prescription or referral to a custom orthotics specialist.  Get those orthotics made specifically for YOUR feet.  This will make such a huge difference in proper alignment of your feet.  This will carry up your legs, knees, hips, and back.  Most insurance companies will help pay for this expense.  If you have a HSA/FSA account, you can you use that money to pay for any copay.

2. Get good shoes.  Shoes that your new orthotics will fit into.  A proper shoe will have a thicker sole that doesn't bend at the toes.  It will have more of a rocking through motion.  The orthotics should give you proper arch support alleviating your plantar fasciitis pain.  One of the best shoes on the market is made by MBT.  Click here to check out their website.

3. MELT your feet!  I really can't stress this enough.  Using this very simple technique is extremely effective, and quite frankly, may even resolve all your foot issues.  How else are you going to know, unless you try?

Which one are you going to start with?

Cheer!
