That’s right. Only 6 seconds.

When living with chronic pain, your nervous system and biochemical pathways in your brain are overwhelmed.

Your brain is constantly analyzing and deciding what to do with the information that you are receiving.

This all happens in a split second.

Responses become automatic because your brain will always take the path of least resistance.

The path that it knows.

But what happens when you get a paper cut, and you respond as if you where hit by a car?

This is where that very negative emotion or fear comes into play.

Your past traumas are connected to your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs (usually pretty negative…when you think about it).

Your brain will confuse this information and tell you to respond the way you have in your past.

Pain is a very real sensation.

But, fear is a negative emotion.

When you take the fear out of the pain signal it will diffuse the situation.

Start by creating a new habit and think positive thoughts.

Write them down.
